Barbless hooks are quickly becoming the standard in the Fly Fishing world. However, paying $7.00, $8.00 or more for a pack of hooks is just outrageous and causes the wallet to take a hit. However, I’ve been fishing and tying on TroutLegend Hooks for quite some time now and I just couldn't hold back from sharing these hooks with all of you. These hooks are top quality, sold here in the great USA and are shipped from right here on the East Coast. Dejon Hammon, founder of TroutLegend.com, has really out done himself by offering these superior hooks for a fraction of the cost. Instead of paying $8.00 for a pack of 25, TroutLegend offers there hooks for $3.99! What a deal!

TroutLegend hooks are by the far the best barbless hooks on the market. There strong, durable hooks, along with a sleek black finish; these are the only hooks that I put all my confidence in when the fishing gets tough. These hooks have been put through the fire by some of the top fisherman in the country and they continue to prove themselves.

The long spear like points of these TroutLegend hooks are super sharp which gives these hooks an edge on hook up rates and the longer spears help hold the fish until you land the fish. TroutLegend store has a great selection for trout fisherman.  They have Standard Nymph hooks, Czech Nymph hooks, Streamer hooks, Caddis Hooks and Micro hooks (see the hook pictures below). However, most importantly the Troutlegend hooks are sized more proportionally to the hook sizes us in the USA are accustom to. Most European barbless hooks are much larger than the US standards.

So please check out the TroutLegend hooks at http://troutlegend.com/store/index.php?route=common/home and if you’re considering barbless hooks, I would strongly recommend these hooks. Also, if you tried other barbless hooks and didn’t like them, please give the Troutlegend hooks a try. I’m sure you will be amazed!

For my first post, I figured I would keep it kind of simple. I want to share with everyone some of my most reliable and dependable fish catching flies and keep to a certain season. So since it is January, almost February and most fly fisherman are sitting at home filling there boxes for the spring and summer....I'm out hammer fish with this fly. This is the Y2K Bug. It's a great all around egg pattern design and has a tungsten bead to help get this fly down into the zone.

Materials list:
Hook: TMC2487 Size 12-16
Bead: Gold or Sliver Tungsten Sized to match
Underbody: 0.010 or 0.015 lead wire
Thread: White 6/0 Uni
Body Material: McFly Foam, two colors Peach and Oregon Cheese

I've attached a YouTube video showing you how to tie this fly. Please be aware this is not my video. However, this is exactly how I tie my and I thought a video would be helpful.

Enjoy guys and keep it tight!
All the best
Brandon
